Screen privacy for Chrome

Hide what the person behind you shouldn’t read

CrispGuard covers keywords, images and page areas on any website — a solid bar, a blur, or a faint veil, in one keystroke. Nothing on the page is rewritten, so everything else stays usable.

Built for the screen other people can see

Six ways to cover the part that matters, all built on one rule: change what is drawn on your screen, never the page itself.

Keyword masking

Type a word and every occurrence on the page is covered at once — a solid black bar, a colour or an emoji. Works in paragraphs, tables, list items and input fields. Smart detection can also catch phone numbers, emails, ID numbers, bank cards and amounts without a keyword list.

Image masking

Swap photos and thumbnails for a clean placeholder, in seven styles. Or let “by rule” mode learn what to hide: pick one image for an exact match, pick several of the same kind and CrispGuard extracts the common prefix. Plain image tags, srcset variants, lazy-loaded images and CSS backgrounds are all recognised.

Area masking

Drag a rectangle or an ellipse over any part of a page. Blur it, mosaic it, fill it with a solid colour or hide it completely — and the block stays where you put it as the page scrolls, until you clear it.

Spotlight and page blur

Dim everything except a circle, a window or a band that follows your cursor, so one paragraph stays readable while the rest is unreadable from a distance. Or soften the whole page in one keystroke, and bring it back with the next.

Translucent veil

A faint dark film over the whole page: still readable up close, an unreadable smudge from across the room. Three levels, plus smart translucency that reads only system signals — dark mode and HDR screen brightness — so the amount of concealment stays even.

Decoy page, site lock, sentry

Replace the page with a harmless one when someone walks up. Seal a whole domain behind a 6-digit PIN. Or let the camera notice when someone comes up behind you — frames are analysed in memory and discarded, never recorded or uploaded.

Free for the everyday. PRO for the rest.

Start with the protections most people need, without an account or a time limit. PRO removes the limits: every style, smart detection, automatic protection on any number of sites, site lock and the camera sentry.

Money-back guarantee within 7 days ?Payment processing fees are charged by the payment provider and are not refundable, so about 6% + 0.40 USD is deducted from any refund.

Getting started

No sign-in and no account — the free plan and the PRO licence both work without one, and we never ask you to register.

  1. Add the extensionOne click from the Chrome Web Store. Chrome asks for permission to read the pages you are on — that is how CrispGuard finds what to cover.
  2. Pin the iconOpen the puzzle-piece menu and pin CrispGuard, so the icon is always one click away.
  3. Cover what mattersPress the shortcut for keywords, images or areas — or click the icon and pick. Press it again to uncover.

Questions, answered

What does the free plan actually include?

Keyword masking with a black bar, image masking with the default placeholder, area masking with blur and rectangle, spotlight (circle), full-page blur at low strength, the translucent veil at high, automatic protection on one site, and the “Loading” decoy page. No account, no time limit, no card.

What does the PRO licence unlock?

Seven image placeholder styles, image rules learned by picking, smart detection (phone numbers, emails, ID numbers, bank cards and amounts), custom mask colours and characters, mosaic and solid area masks, ellipse and scan-band spotlight, medium and high blur, medium and low translucency with smart translucency, automatic protection on unlimited sites, exception paths, the 6-digit site lock, the camera sentry and nine more decoy pages.

How many devices can I activate?

It depends on your plan — 2 devices for monthly, 4 for yearly. When you exceed the limit, the device you added first is removed automatically to make room for the new one.

I bought on one computer. How do I use it on another?

Open the Manage licence page, verify your email with a one-time code, and you will see every activated device. You can remove any of them there — the removed device re-activates on its next check.

Do I need an account, or to hand over personal data?

No. Neither the free plan nor the PRO licence needs an account, a sign-up or any personal details. Masking is decided and drawn inside your browser: page text, keywords and images never leave your device. The only email in the picture is the one you give the payment provider at checkout, so your licence key can reach you.

Does it change the page, and can a site tell?

It only draws covers on top of the page — it does not rewrite text, images or the page’s own code. A site that deliberately inspected the DOM could notice extra elements, but no ordinary site does, and nothing about the cover is sent to the site.

What happens when I cancel or get a refund?

The licence is revoked on our side, and the extension drops back to the free plan automatically. Everything you covered is restored.

Is the payment secure?

Card details never touch our servers. Checkout, invoicing and tax handling are carried out by our payment provider as merchant of record, including VAT and regional payments.

Does the veil or the sentry read my screen or camera?

The veil is a plain semi-transparent layer: it reads no page content and asks for no new permission. The sentry uses the camera only while you switch it on — frames are analysed in memory to decide whether someone is behind you, then discarded. Nothing is recorded, stored or uploaded.
